THE BRIEF
The client wanted a contemporary feel with a traditional twist to be in keeping with the property. A breakfast bar with seating for two and a seating area to be a feature near the entrance to the kitchen. A wall was taken out between the kitchen and dining room and a social kitchen/dining room was 1st on the list.
A big island was essential with units all around.
The hob was to be on the island so that when entertaining the chef was facing the main part of the room.

DESIGNER'S TIPS
Use half-height units on the floor and wall to create a seating area and focal point in the room.
